⁣Goddess Kali (also known as Shakti) is the most powerful and destructive of all forms. She has a dark complexion with red eyes and four arms. She carries a sword, khadaga (sword), in one hand. On the other hand, she carries the decapitated head of a demon. The two remaining hands are in the blessing of Her devotees. Also, she wears a garland of heads of demons that she has killed to make this Goddess's form even more divine and fearful. You will also be able to see the Goddess's fierce look. Rakta Beej was able to form huge armies thanks to the large amounts of blood that fell onto Earth. In anger, the Devi adopted the fierce Kali form. Then, she went on to defeat the demon with her sword in Her hand. She would kill each demon, and then she would drink his blood. Soon, the whole army was gone and she left only the Rakta Bugej. Then she killed him and drank all the blood until he became lifeless. This is when the legend says that the Goddess went mad from blood lust. She danced the dance to destruction and then forgot that she had already killed a demon. After killing the demon, she kept going. The Gods realized this and reached out to Lord Shiva for help. Only Shiva could stop Kali at this moment. Lord Shiva then went and lay down amongst the corpses of Goddess Dancing. Kali accidentally stepped over Shiva. Soon she realized her error. Her tongue immediately exploded with embarrassment. Then, she calmed her down. She was embarrassed at the inability of Her bloodlust to recognize Her husband. She was able to return to Her original form and stop the destruction. Kali's feet holding Shiva symbolizes Nature's supremacy over man. It is evident that Shiva, a powerful force such as Lord Shiva, can't exist without Kali/Shakti. Kali can be seen as stepping on Shiva’s chest.

⁣Narada Muni - Muni is the Sanskrit for Sage; he is a Vedic Sag of the Hindu dharma. In Vedic scriptures, Narada (Sanskrit for Na) means "deity that Brahma invested using the power to create."

He is described in the religious texts of Hinduism as one of the ten Manas– Putras. These are the mind-sons and spirits of Brahma (since his mind was more important than his body) He was also an ardent follower of Lord Vishnu.

A Khartal is seen here. He also carries a Veena. His name is Mahathi. He is considered to be one of the great musical instrument makers. Khartal is an old instrument. It's named from two Hindi words - 'Kara/strong> and ’tala/strong>. It's a wooden clapper made with plates or discs that make a clinking noise when they clap together.

The Viena a classic multi-stringed chordophone, is made in the Indian subcontinent. It has a hollow structure and two large resonance gourds beneath each end. It has four strings. There are three drone strings and one melody string. To play, the musician will pluck the melody strings upwards.

Hanuman then enters Shani Lok asking Shani to please return to her father. Shani, being too arrogant, can't believe Hanuman was able to effortlessly enter his Shani Lok. So, he decides he will teach Hanuman something. He then climbs on Lord Hanuman’s shoulder and tries to influence him. He is surprised to find that it does not affect Lord Hauman.

Lord Hanuman actually increases his size to the point that Shani is caught between Hanuman's shoulder, the ceiling, and Hanuman. Shani demands that Hanuman leave him, promising that he would not trouble Hanuman devotees and that he would only moderate all his effects before Hanuman devotees. Hanuman realized this and released Shani dev.

Next, Shani Dev asks Lord Hanuman for his tail in order to apply and escape the pain. Since then, it has been common to offer oil/black til to Shani Devta. It soothes his suffering and also makes him beneficent towards Ram-and Hanuman devotees. It is why you can see huge lines at Hanuman temples every Saturday for Shani and Hanuman. Shani's dosh doesn't affect those who give till and a tail (oil) offering to Shani.

It is believed that our gestures using our hands and fingers allow us to directly influence the energy of the body's elements.

This allows you to honor your physical body, your emotional body, and even your mental body. Yoga mudras encourage the flow and energy of the subtle body, which will help you in your journey within. Subtle can also be translated to "that which is most delicate" or "that which is the most refined."

Even though you might not know what the word mudra means, you're likely more familiar than you think with hand gestures. Much of what we communicate is done using our hands.

⁣When we die, our spirit and body separate. Our spirit, which is the core of who we are, still lives on even though our body has passed away. Our spirit moves to the spiritual universe. The spirit universe is a waiting period before we receive the gift that resurrection. Our spirits will then reunite with us. Our future resurrected bodily remains immortal and cannot be destroyed. They continued to rule their kingdoms even as they grew up. You can still feel their influence today, in the form of the communities, architectures, and dynasties that they left behind.

Others involve movements of the shoulders, wrists, and elbows. There are many mudras used in ceremonies, dancing, sculpture, and painting iconography (i.e. Representations of Buddha. The use of mudras in spiritual and yoga practices, including those of Indian religions such as Dharma or Taoism, has been common for thousands of years to facilitate meditation and/or healing.

The hand gestures called mudras in yoga are used in conjunction with pranayama (yogic breath exercises). They are typically performed while one is in Padmasana Sukhasana or Vajrasana. Mudras are used to stimulate the different parts of your body that deal with breathing. They also affect your mood and energy flow. As each hand corresponds to one part of the mind, or body, it can be controlled by curling, crossing, stretching, and touching the fingers.
Spiritually, specific mudras are an outward manifestation of one's inner desires. There are many mudras. However, it is believed that meditation on a particular mudra will bring forth certain thoughts, energies, or devotions. Mudras help us visualize what we want and need. Mudras allow you to physically connect with an intangible wish by placing your hands in a mudra.

⁣Vibhishana was also known as Bibhishan and was the younger brother to Ravana, who is the Demon King from Lanka in the epic Ramayana. Vibhishana, though an asura, did not display the typical behavior of his clan. In fact, Vibhishana was a noble character, great devotee, and seventh avatar of Sri Maha Vishnu's Lord Rama. He is also the central character in the Ramayana. Vibhishana, who was all for peace, tried to warn Ravana not to abduct Sita, Rama's wife. He wanted Sita back to her husband. Vibhishana left him when he refused to listen and joined Rama’s army. He eventually helped defeat Ravana. According to Sinhalese history, Vibhishana is one of the Sathara Waram Deviyos or four guardian deities. This belief was prevalent during the Kotte period. Ravana Katha from Wickramasinghe Adigar tells us that Vibhishana as King ascended to the throne after Ravana was defeated by Rama. His Yaksha capital was then moved from Alakamandawa to Kelaniya. He was revered by Goddess Pattini is the God of the Four Warrants after the 16th century. A small group of devotees continues to worship him, mostly in the Kelaniya region.

⁣Tulsi or Tulasi (Holy Basil) or Vrinda is a sacred plant in Hindu belief. Hindus regard it as an early manifestation of the goddess Tulsi/Vrinda; she is regarded as the avatar of Lakshmi, and thus the consort of the god Vishnu. The offering of its leaves is mandatory in ritualistic worship of Vishnu and his avatars like Krishna and Vithoba.

Many Hindus have tulsi plants growing in front of or near their home, often in special pots or a special masonry structure known as Tulsi Vrindavan as this is related to their culture. Traditionally, Tulsi is planted in the center of the central courtyard of Hindu houses. The plant is cultivated for religious purposes, and for its essential oil.

⁣It is one of the most important festivals. It is popularly celebrated in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh as well as Bihar and Jharkhand. Many other names have been given to the festival, including Hariyali Teej. Sawan Teez and Shravani Teej.

⁣Mahabharata is home to one character that could make the ideal king. But fate decided that he would be born to a maid. Vidura was the wisest of all, and his foresight saved Pandavas.

Vidura was halfbrother to Pandu (Dhritarashtra) and Pandu. He was the child of a maid-servant. According to some, Yama or Dharma Raja was his incarnation. Mandavya cursed him with punishments that far exceed the sin.

Both queens were heiresses to King Vichitravirya Of Hastinapur. The latter died in childlessness. Satyavati Vichitravirya was eager to ensure the continuation of the royal line. She called her second son Vyasa to summon his mystical powers to grant motherhood and the two queens. Vyasa, a sage ascetic hermit, came to the palace untidy. Ambika was shocked to see him and closed her eyes. Ambalika, however, became pale. Therefore, their children were born blind and albino.

Satyavati asked Vyasa for permission to go back to Ambika’s bed so that she could have children. Instead, she put her maidservant on her bed. The dutiful maidservant didn't seem afraid. So her son was not like his half-siblings. Vidura was thus born as the brother of Dhritarashtra Pandu.
Bhishma who he called father, raised Vidura with his half brothers. Vidura, whose parents were not of royal blood (sage Vyasa had divine but not royal lineage), was not eligible to become a king. He served as chancellor to his brothers.

⁣Manasa Deva is also known for being the snake goddess. She is worshipped most often in Bengal and other North-Eastern states of India. It is believed that Goddess Manasa controls all the serpents on Earth. Therefore, a snake bite can easily be treated by worshipping Her. Goddess Manasa is also a goddess of fertility and prosperity.

According to legends, Goddess Manasa is the daughter of Lord Shiva. Some scriptures say that she was the daughter of Sage Kashyapa. She could be distantly related. She is Vasuki’s twin and Sage Jaratkaru’s spouse. Due to confusion regarding Her parents, Goddess Manasa cannot enjoy the same status as other gods. She is a furious Goddess to those who refuse to worship her, but extremely kind to those who worship Him with devotion.

⁣Tulsi Vivah a Hindu festival celebrating the Tulsi and Vishnu's wedding is a well-known Hindu festival. Tulsi weddings are a symbol of the end of the monsoon. It also marks the beginning or the end of Hinduism’s marriage season. The celebration can be held anytime between Kartik Poornima & Prabodhini Ekadashi.

According to Indian religious scriptures, all evil energy and any other problems that may arise within the home or family can be fixed by worshipping Tulsi (or convening Tulsi marriages). Wealth, misfortunes, and stifling circumstances also settle within the home.
