⁣Ravana lost to Lord Rama and was on the verge of death. Lord Rama asked Laxman if he could go with him and learn some wisdom. Ravana, a respected scholar of Vedas who was also a brahmin, was defeated. Lakshman, following his brother's instructions, sat down by Ravana's grave. Raavan did nothing, and Laxman returned Rama. Lord Rama advised Laxman not to sit or stand next to his teacher, but to his feet. Laxman went back and this time, he stood at his feet. Ravana recognized this and revealed three secrets to his life that would bring him success.

Don’t delay in accomplishing any auspicious works. On the other, avoid delaying inauspicious tasks as much as possible. He supported this teaching by saying "shubhsy shiighrm", (Shubhasya Shighram). Lakshman said that he couldn’t recognize Rama. This delayed his chances for moksha.
